Job summary

City of Leander, Texas seeks a Public Safety Systems Administrator to support police department software, data reporting, and technology operations. The role requires administering RMS and related platforms, handling user management, testing, and troubleshooting, and coordinating software releases.

The ideal candidate will have at least an Associate’s degree or equivalent and 1 year of related experience, or a high school diploma with 3 years in public safety technology support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting software systems, databases, reporting, or public safety technology.
• Experience with system administration tasks including user management, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of CALEA standards and public safety data requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administers police department software and public safety systems (RMS, Guardian Tracking, PowerDMS, etc).
• Performs routine user administration and permissions management.
• Performs daily system support, triages issues, and coordinates with IT or vendors.
• Coordinates monthly software release activities and documentation.
• Supports implementation of new software, integrations, and workflows.
• Collects and organizes data for recurring reports and audits.
• Creates dashboards and reports using Power BI, Crystal Reports, ArcGIS, or similar tools.
• Maintains system documentation and technical procedures.
• Supports policy management and grant-related data collection and reporting.
• Develops user-friendly instructions and provides training on assigned systems.
