Eligible candidates include current or retired peace officers, or Level 1 Reserve Peace Officers, with recent employment or requalification proof as required. Active officers need home-agency authorization to work per diem.

Permanency at the current or prior agency is required. Reserve officers must have completed Level 1 Reserve POST Regular Basic Course.

Qualifications

• Current or retired peace officer with a California law enforcement agency.
• Last date of employment must have been within the last three years or have proof of requalification.
• CalPERS retirees must follow retired annuitant requirements as outlined by CalPERS.
• Must meet POST standards and have completed POST approved Field Training program at home agency.
• Reserve officers must provide proof of Level 1 Reserve Peace Officer POST Regular Basic Course.
• Candidates must have permanency at their current or prior agency.
