Job summary

The Village of Tinley Park is hiring a full-time Radio Technician in the Public Works Department. You will oversee installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of two-way radios and microwave systems across village facilities, data centers, and dispatch sites.

The role requires handling service orders, provisioning, and responding to 24/7 emergencies as needed. Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree or 5+ years of related experience, strong electronics knowledge, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

Associate's degree or 5 years of related experience.
Prior field inspection experience preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge of electronics, TIMS, RF service monitor, wall meter, multimeters, cable analyzers and RF testing equipment.

Responsibilities

Install, inspect, maintain and repair two-way radios and microwave systems and related equipment.
Perform service orders, provisioning, repair, installation and maintenance at sites and data centers.
Report to remote towers or emergency scenes to effect repairs or modifications.
Participate in emergency planning and tactical communications deployment.
