MGT is seeking an Interim Public Safety Technology Project Manager to lead the Pflugerville ISD Police Department's transition from the City of Pflugerville environment to an independent public safety technology environment. Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of technology project management experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Experience with infrastructure implementations, system migrations, technology separations, or modernization projects.
  • Working knowledge of CJIS security requirements.
  • Ability to travel onsite to Pflugerville, Texas and meet background screening requirements.

Public Safety Technology Project Manager

6-9 months - Pflugerville, Texas (Hybrid)

Role Summary

MGT Is looking to Hire an Interim Project Manager for one of their K-12 Clients , who will lead and coordinate Pflugerville ISD Police Department's transition from the City of Pflugerville technology environment to an independent public safety technology environment. The PM will manage the project from initiation through implementation, go-live, stabilization, and transition to managed services.

The PM will be responsible for project coordination and delivery oversight. Technical design, configuration, installation, and security validation will be performed by designated technical specialists and vendors.

Scope of Work
  • Develop and manage the overall project plan, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and critical path.
  • Manage the project against the required completion date of June 1, 2027.
  • Coordinate Pflugerville ISD, Police Department personnel, district IT, MGT resources, and third-party vendors.
  • Facilitate discovery, requirements, planning, status, risk, testing, and go-live meetings.
  • Support the evaluation and selection of CAD, public safety technology, infrastructure, and service vendors.
  • Coordinate procurement, equipment delivery, vendor schedules, and implementation dependencies.
  • Oversee project workstreams involving CAD, networking, servers, cybersecurity, integrations, remote access, and infrastructure separation.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and change requests.
  • Coordinate testing, cutover, go-live, stabilization, documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff.
  • Coordinate the transition to ongoing managed services and technical support.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum five years of technology project management experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Experience with infrastructure implementations, system migrations, technology separations, or modernization projects.
  • Working knowledge of public safety systems, CAD environments, or other mission-critical technology operations.
  • General understanding of CJIS security requirements.
  • Experience coordinating vendor selection, procurement, implementation, testing, cutover, and go-live.
  • Strong project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive reporting skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel onsite to Pflugerville, Texas, for critical project activities.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable background screening, confidentiality, CJIS training, and system-access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or comparable project management certification.
  • Experience supporting police departments, school district police departments, 911 centers, dispatch operations, or other public safety agencies.
  • Experience coordinating CAD or related public safety system implementations.
  • Experience working with Motorola, Capital, or comparable public safety technology vendors.
  • Experience managing CJIS-related implementations and transitions to managed services.

  • Coordinate PfISD stakeholders, Police Department personnel, MGT resources, and third-party vendors.
  • Oversee procurement, installation, configuration, testing, cutover, and transition to support.
  • Maintain accountability across all parties to meet the required completion date.
  • Additional Support needed by MGT on the project end to end delivery
Hourly Wage and Selection Process

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is 65/HR TO 70/HR on W-2, depending on qualifications and experience.
