Job summary

Westmoreland County is seeking a Probation Officer I to supervise offenders, enforce court orders, and provide counseling and other services as required. You will conduct investigations, prepare reports for the Court, and maintain case records.

A Bachelor's degree is required; one year of probation/parole or related experience preferred. The position involves training, courtroom appearances, and collaboration with Judges, District Attorneys, and law enforcement.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• At least one year of experience in probation and parole, social work or another related field is preferred.
• Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise offenders, enforce court orders, collect data on offenders, and monitor cases.
• Conduct investigations and prepare reports for the Court.
• Carry out court services and prepare pre-sentence/pre-parole reports.
• Attend trainings and maintain case records.
• Maintain an automobile for job related use and complete 40 hours of training annually.
