Job summary

State of West Virginia, Parkersburg office is seeking an entry-level Probation/Parole Officer to investigate, counsel, and supervise adult offenders to aid their social adjustment.

You will handle home plan investigations, clemency and post-sentence reports for the Parole Board, and regional violation reports, working across Wood, Wirt, Calhoun, Gilmer, Ritchie and Pleasants counties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Substitution of experience for training allowed as stated.
• Firearms distribution requires psychological evaluation and annual training.

Responsibilities

• Investigate home plans and complete investigative reports.
• Prepare clemency and post-sentence reports for the Parole Board.
• Coordinate cooperative investigations with other states and file violation reports.
