Job Summary

Public Safety Officers serve as the first line of defense for the Hartford HealthCare community by providing excellent customer service and maintaining safe, secure environments for patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians, and physicians. They prevent hazardous situations, respond to emergencies, and support situations when managed successfully.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one (1) year of relevant experience serving the public or patients (e.g., public safety, corrections, first responder, military, mental health technician, or similar healthcare role)
• Volunteer experience or related degree programs may substitute for experience, at the discretion of the hiring manager
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
• Valid CT Guard Card or proof of application with an expectation to receive it within 90 days of hire
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
