Job summary

Advocate Health's Carolinas Medical Center: Mercy Public Safety department is seeking a full-time Security Officer to provide professional security services across campus. The role involves patrolling, responding to incidents, de‑escalation, and collaboration with healthcare staff and local authorities.

Hours are 40 per week with a pay range of $21.85 to $32.80 per hour. A sign-on bonus may be offered based on eligibility, and high school graduation or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Typically 1 year of security, public safety, or customer service experience.
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and post‑offer physical.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services with a professional, courteous approach.
• Patrol interior and exterior areas to identify hazards and ensure safety.
• Respond to calls, de‑escalate situations, and assist patients, visitors, and staff.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders as needed.
• Complete timely incident reports and maintain safety equipment and uniforms.
