Public Safety Officer I - Armed (Full Time, 2nd Shift)

Position: Public Safety Officer I - Armed

Locations: Advocate Medical Group (AMG Clinic) - Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn
Must be able to work at both locations.

Schedule: Full Time; 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Provide security with professionalism, fairness, and compassion, ensuring safety and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Perform interior and exterior patrols, inspections, and assist with directions and physical help.
• Respond to workplace violence, service calls, and emergencies, including de-escalation and physical intervention when necessary.
• Investigate incidents, complete reports, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Build partnerships through liaison rounding, deliver security awareness education, and coordinate with law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain training standards in communication, de-escalation, CPR, restraints, Taser use, and department equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year experience in security, public safety, or customer service responding to emergent situations.
• Illinois armed course completion, firearm endorsement, valid driver’s license, FOID or CCW card, and ability to obtain Firearm Control Card within 90 days.
• Certification in Taser use within 90 days of hire.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to carry a firearm, exercise sound judgment, communicate effectively, and handle stressful situations.
• Physical ability to lift, walk, stand, and operate equipment.

Additional Requirements

• Background check, drug screen, physical, and psychological assessments.
• Willingness to carry a firearm and adhere to departmental policies.
