Position Details
- Location: Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL
- Full Time; 2nd Shift
- 4-day work week, every other weekend off
- Two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts
Responsibilities
- Provide security services with a customer-service approach, ensuring professionalism, fairness, and compassion.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor to inspire confidence among patients, visitors, and staff.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols, perform safety inspections, manage patient valuables, and conduct contraband searches.
- Respond to workplace violence, service calls, and emergencies, including de-escalation and use of force when necessary.
- Investigate incidents, complete reports, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders, and deliver security awareness education.
- Maintain training standards and certifications, including de-escalation, hemorrhage control, CPR, and TASER use.
- Assist with traffic and crowd control, parking enforcement, and community-oriented patrolling.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service responding to emergent situations
- Required certifications: Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO), NIMS Compliance, FOID or CCW, and others as specified
- Willingness to carry a firearm and meet physical and training requirements
Physical and Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive; lift up to 35 lbs.; operate firearms and equipment
- Exposure to potentially hazardous situations and emotionally charged environments
- Must be physically fit and capable of restraining individuals when necessary
