Job summary

Hartford HealthCare, including St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, is seeking a Public Safety Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors.

You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed to ensure safety and security across the campus. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and CT Guard Card, with English proficiency and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience in public safety, corrections, EMS, or military.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Valid CT Guard Card required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Basic First Aid and CPR preferred.
• CPI MOAB and multilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, customer service focused assistance to the Hartford HealthCare community.
• Patrol and rounds of facilities to identify safety concerns and other problems.
• Respond promptly to incidents, investigate hazards, and take appropriate action.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures and follow guidelines.
• Document activity logs and reports; share information with leadership.
