Job summary

Piedmont is hiring a security role focused on maintaining a safe environment for students, staff, patients, and visitors. The role acts as a first responder to incidents and ensures secure operations within a Piedmont facility.

Qualified candidates bring a High School diploma or GED and at least two years in general security or public safety, with weapon-handling experience as applicable. A valid driver’s license and compliance with vehicle safety policies are required.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty, or an equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Valid Driver's license & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500

Responsibilities

• Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.
