Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to perform routine safety and emergency security activities, safeguarding patients, staff, and visitors. The role includes serving as a first responder to incidents within the facility and de-escalating volatile situations with sound judgment.

Candidates should have 2 years of security/public safety experience and the ability to meet firearm handling requirements and related training. The position is based at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
