Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a security officer to maintain safety for patients, staff, visitors, and property. The role acts as the first responder to emergencies within the facility and uses sound judgment to de-escalate critical events and manage encounters with combative individuals.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 2 years of security or public safety experience with firearm exposure or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or public safety with firearms exposure required or equivalent training and experience.

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
