Piedmont Columbus Midtown seeks a dedicated security officer to safeguard students, staff, patients and visitors. You will respond to emergencies as the first responder and apply judgment in de-escalating incidents involving combative individuals.

Required credentials include a GED, 2 years of public safety experience or equivalent training, a valid in-state driver license, and multiple weapon certifications, including firearms and non-lethal options.

Competenze

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of security/public safety experience or equivalent training to demonstrate responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
• Valid in-state Driver License and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire.
• IAHSS Certification as a Security Officer within 1 year.
• Ability to carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or baton.
• Carry company issued firearm.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements including Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid and others.
• Georgia POST certification preferred.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Required or
• equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton Required
• Carry company issued firearm Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
