Job summary

Community First Medical Center in Chicago is seeking a Safety and Security Officer to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This full-time role involves monitoring assigned areas, assisting personnel, and responding to various requests. Responsibilities

  • Make rounds, inside and outside assigned areas as scheduled.
  • Provide assistance to other security personnel and hospital employees.
  • Observe and document non-conformance to policies.
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Respond timely to calls from nursing and other departments.
  • Transport patients using wheelchairs or assistive devices.
  • Accept and release patients' valuables and lost items.
  • Assist with shift coverage when manpower is low.

Description

The Safety and Security Officer perform activities necessary to the provision of a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, and visitors of the hospital and to protect the assets of Community First. At the discretion of the Supervisor, an Officer may also be assigned to perform supervisory duties as the Officer in Charge (O.I.C.).

This opportunity is full time: 11pm - 7:30am On Call: Rotation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Makes rounds, inside and outside of assigned areas as scheduled.
  2. Provides assistance to other security personnel, hospital employees, and escorts visitors.
  3. Observes and documents the non-conformance of policies and procedures.
  4. Accurately completes all paperwork as required.
  5. Demonstrates discretion in handling confidential information.
  6. Responds to calls from nursing and other hospital departments in a timely manner.
  7. Transports patients in wheelchairs or those using assistive devices.
  8. Accepts and releases patient’s valuables and lost and found items (per policy) as needed.
  9. Responds to requests for additional manpower to cover shift shortages.
