Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to patrol campus areas and ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors. The role requires vigilance, incident reporting, and the ability to respond to alarms and emergencies in a timely manner.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of security experience, a high school diploma, and a valid Florida driver’s license with a clean record. A security license is preferred, with CPI training within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

  • Security license preferred and driving history within acceptable limits (≤4 points).

Responsibilities

  • Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance/exit to protect property and people.
  • Respond to alarms and dispatched calls; act decisively under pressure.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports and document observations.
  • Identify hazards and security vulnerabilities; coordinate with supervisors.
  • Conduct interviews and collect statements for investigations.
  • Provide testimony and assist in investigations when needed.

We welcome all healthcare professionals to join our thriving community and contribute to our pursuit for clinical excellence.Department:Job Description Summary:Bilingual (Spanish and English)Position ResponsibilitiesIn an assigned area(s), patrols the buildings and grounds observing for persons or conditions which could adversely affect the security and safety of the Medical Center.Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintainLocates and reports hazardous conditions and illegal activities as observed or documented.Enforces hospital policy during any incidents using efficient and courteous procedures.Handles incident situations per MSMC and departmental policy utilizing resources as appropriate or necessary.Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.Maintains a basic understanding of alarm technology, as required.Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.Understands the capabilities of and maintains proficiency in the use of all safety equipment and protective garments on campus.Prepares accurate reports of such incidents as observed.Controls situations. Courteously controls subjects, witnesses, visitors, patients and staff and protects the scene and any physical evidence as observed by the discipline and the supervisor.Conducts interviews. Identifies and obtains statements from all persons having knowledge of the subject of investigation as evidenced by a complete and accurate report.Records Evidence and performs successful investigations.
