Job Summary
Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel must perform their duties with constant awareness of surroundings, noting all activity in the assigned area. Maintaining a professional image and demonstrating excellent customer service are essential.

Basic Functions

• Control entrances and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol buildings and perimeters.
• Escort materials and personnel.
• Inspect security and fire exposures.
• Perform special assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

Duties may vary based on department size, organizational structure, location, and post assignments. Reasonable accommodations will be made for ADA requirements. General officer functions include:

• Reporting on time in full uniform.
• Greeting customers, visitors, and employees politely and professionally.
• Staying updated on post order revisions and general information from the customer and AFS.
• Patrolling property or maintaining fixed posts, reporting suspicious activity, and investigating incidents.
• Monitoring cameras and equipment as outlined in post orders.
• Knowing emergency policies, procedures, and regulations to respond effectively to alarms and incidents.
• Completing Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports, and other relevant documentation.
• Recommending safety and loss prevention improvements.
• Understanding life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and other equipment to perform duties effectively.
• Ensuring compliance with training and regulatory guidelines.
• Communicating daily with Security Supervisors about new issues or changes.
