Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel must perform duties with constant awareness of surroundings, noting all activity in the assigned area. Maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Basic Functions

• Control of entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol of buildings and perimeters.
• Escort of material and personnel.
• Inspection of security and fire exposures.
• Performing special assignments.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary based on department size, organizational structure, location, and post assignments. Reasonable accommodations may be made for ADA requirements. The overall goal is to provide security as described below (duties may vary based on post orders):

• Report to the post on time, in full uniform.
• Maintain a professional image, greeting visitors, customers, and employees politely and courteously.
• Stay updated on all revisions to post orders and general information from the customer and AFS.
• Patrol the property or remain at a fixed post, vigilantly reporting suspicious activity and investigating incidents.
• Monitor cameras and equipment as per post orders.
• Be familiar with emergency policies, procedures, and regulations to respond effectively to alarms and incidents.
• Complete reports such as Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, and Incident Reports.
• Recommend safety and loss prevention improvements to management.
• Maintain knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and other equipment; ensure their proper operation.
• Ensure compliance with training guidelines and regulations.
• Communicate regularly with the Security Supervisor about security issues or changes.
