Job summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking candidates for Security Officer roles on the Downtown Campus. This is a 2nd shift position (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), Monday through Friday, on-site in the Campus Safety and Security department.

Responsibilities include patrols by foot, bike, or vehicle, reporting incidents, and supporting crises, evacuations, and security operations to maintain a safe campus environment for all.

Qualifications

• High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience.
• Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing visual inspection by foot, bike, and vehicle patrols.
• Complete incident, accident and injury reports as needed.
• Maintain a safe campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.
• Assist with campus crises, evacuations and drills; monitor parking facilities.
• Issue citations as needed and perform duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking multiple candidates for Security Officer positions in our fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown Campus. This is a 2nd shift position (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), Monday through Friday.

Job Duties

Candidates will be responsible for providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.
Other duties include but are not limited to:

• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).
Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.).
