Qualifications

• Respond to emergencies, alarms, codes, and incidents involving safety or security.
• Provide patient observation and safety support as needed.
• Coordinate with Police, Fire, EMS and emergency personnel.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems and respond to security concerns.
• Provide professional, respectful customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems and respond appropriately to security concerns.
• Provide patient observation and safety support, including one-to-one observation when needed.
• Identify and report safety, fire, security, and loss-prevention hazards.
• Prepare accurate and timely incident reports.

The Public Safety Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the hospital community. This role responds to emergencies, provides security and patient support, and works closely with hospital staff and local emergency responders.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, codes, and incidents involving safety or security.
• Respond to disruptive, aggressive, or combative behavior and assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Respond to medical emergencies, falls, and suspected opioid overdoses; administer Naloxone when trained and authorized.
• Conduct security patrols, safety checks, and investigations of thefts, disturbances, and other incidents.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems and respond appropriately to security concerns.
• Conduct safety and contraband searches when required.
• Provide patient observation and safety support, including one-to-one observation when needed.
• Assist with forensic patients and coordinate with local Police, Fire, EMS, and other emergency personnel.
• Identify and report safety, fire, security, and loss-prevention hazards.
• Prepare accurate and timely incident reports.
• Provide professional, respectful customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Enforce hospital parking, traffic, safety, and security policies.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, fire drills, training, and other departmental activities.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the Public Safety Department.
