Job description

Responsibilities:

Responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities, safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. Acts as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Ensures safe de-escalation of critical events and uses sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
2. Minimum Experience: Two years in general security, military, or public safety roles involving active firearm use or equivalent training and experience in responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
3. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500
4. Additional Qualifications: Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire; Georgia P.O.S.T. certification preferred; possession of non-lethal weapons such as Taser CEW and baton; company-issued firearm; passing pre-employment psychological screening; maintaining certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, among others.
