Job summary

The State of California is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the California Highway Patrol. This permanent, full-time position involves cleaning exterior buildings, grounds, and parking areas, and assisting with automotive fleet maintenance.

Responsibilities include maintaining plantings, handling trash, fueling vehicles, rotating tires, and supporting vehicle service and inventory tasks. A valid California drivers license is required, and candidates may be hired at the minimum of the salary

Qualifications

• Valid California driver’s license required.
• Experience in building exterior maintenance and grounds care preferred.
• Ability to perform minor automotive adjustments and fleet tasks.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean exterior of buildings, parking lots, sidewalks and fuel bays.
• Water and maintain plantings and grounds around buildings.
• Empty outdoor trash cans and manage grounds cleanliness.
• Assist Automotive Technician II with minor maintenance tasks.
• Deliver and pick up vehicles; manage vehicle inventory and tires.
• Fuel vehicles and perform related fleet duties.
• Inspect, rotate, mount and balance tires; replenish fire extinguishers.
