Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking a Logistics Division Manager within the Police Administrative Services Bureau to plan, organize, and direct the department's logistical operations in support of public safety objectives. This role oversees procurement, storage, distribution, and maintenance of resources while leading a team of logistics personnel.

You will ensure compliance with budgets, policies, and regulations, forecast resource needs, coordinate with vendors, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and supervisory experience in a Law Enforcement setting.
• Four years of experience in logistics-related areas such as fleet, records, or supply.
• Valid Florida Driver License required at time of appointment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise logistics staff, including supervisors, analysts, and support personnel.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, maintenance, and distribution of department resources.
• Develop the division budget and manage expenditures within approved limits.
• Forecast resource needs based on operations and emergencies; plan for long-term needs.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards.
• Lead audits and assessments to maintain accountability and transparency.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during critical incidents.
