Licenses Valid Florida Driver License required at time of appointment.
Certifications None.
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of administration and supervision.
Considerable knowledge of controlling laws and ordinances and of departmental regulations.
Considerable knowledge of and the ability to apply union contracts, city ordinances, state statues, and department policies and procedures.
Considerable knowledge of rules and methods of evidence preservation.
Ability to plan, assign, supervise, train, and review work of others directly and through analysis of reports.
Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, impartially, and with respect to the rights of others.
Ability to react quickly and calmly under emergency conditions and coordinate work of subordinates in emergencies.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to speak in front of others during presentations.
Ability to maintain security and confidentiality.
Working knowledge of computers and relevant software and the ability to apply such knowledge in the performance of job duties.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Work may require working or attending meetings outside of regularly scheduled work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions. May be required to attend meetings away from normal job site. May be required to respond and work when Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated. Note: May Require Assessment(s). May fill multiple positions. May establish an eligibility list.
