Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of supervisory or law enforcement/public safety experience.
• CPR and basic first aid within first 90 days of employment.
• Valid California Class C driver license with good record.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication; diplomacy in sensitive situations.
• Ability to protect confidential information and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in stressful environments.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of law enforcement/public safety methods and California Vehicle Code.
• Ability to supervise others and assist in firefighting/rescue operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patrol operations and supervise field and booth personnel.
• Provide field operational support and act as Watch Commander when needed.
• Review reports for accuracy and provide coaching and training.
• Coordinate training plans and participate in recruitment/onboarding.
• Develop and implement department policies related to patrol operations.
• Maintain collaboration with university community and external agencies.
