Job summary

University of Pennsylvania, Division of Public Safety, seeks a System Administrator to lead management of Windows servers, SaaS/IaaS environments, security, and incident response. You will implement and monitor infrastructure, back up data, and drive IT solutions in partnership with DPS and campus teams.

The role includes supervising a direct report, coordinating with contracted partners, and ensuring compliance with security standards across the university’s IT landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2–3 years of IT/system administration experience.
• Experience with Windows servers, networks, and security is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as systems administrator for the Division of Public Safety.
• Manage cloud-based and physical server environments; ensure security and reliability.
• Create and manage user accounts and permissions via Active Directory.
• Assist in annual budget planning for DPS IT solutions.
• Develop and implement technology solutions to meet DPS goals.
• Provide tier 2 IT support and coordinate with contractors.
• Enforce DPS and Penn security standards across IT systems.
• Supervise the IT Support Specialist and mentor staff.
