Job summary

The City of Wilmington, NC, is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide city-wide technical assistance, with a focus on public safety departments. You will troubleshoot, image deployments, manage devices, and collaborate with vendors to keep critical systems reliable.

You will support Office 365, Teams, and SCCM/MDM, handle on-call rotations, and contribute to secure, available technology for Police and Fire services. This role is office-based within the City’s IT team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with ~1 year experience in providing routine technical support.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work on-call during evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide city-wide IT support with focus on public safety departments (Police/Fire).
• Manage and deploy devices, images, and software; perform remote support and field work when needed.
• Maintain inventory, licenses, and security compliance; support SCCM/MDM and Office 365/Teams.
• Assist in onboarding and device handoff, ensure CJIS compliance where applicable.
