Job summary

The City of Kent is seeking a Community Education Coordinator to plan and deliver safety education programs, youth engagement, and community events in the Kent area. You’ll collaborate with the Police Neighborhood Response Team to educate residents and families, while promoting public safety and wellness.

Responsibilities include developing curricula, presenting to schools and civic groups, and managing outreach materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
• Two years of experience as an instructor/educator involving program development.
• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, coordinate, implement, document, monitor and evaluate community education projects and events.
• Educate and motivate citizens of all ages to engage in public safety practices; represent the department at community events.
• Develop and deliver presentations to public schools, citizen groups, and organizations; update department communications and social media.
