Job summary

The City of Petaluma is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher (Lateral) for full-time or part-time positions. Candidates must have at least one year of dispatcher experience and have completed the California POST Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Course.

Full-time positions receive benefits; part-time roles are unrepresented with no benefits. Current base salary ranges from $78,041.60 to $94,952.00 annually, with a 2% COLA in July 2027.

Qualifications

• One year of dispatcher experience is required.
• Completion of California POST Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Course is required.

Responsibilities

• Receive 911 and non-emergency calls, assess emergencies, dispatch police/fire/medical as needed.
• Monitor radio traffic and coordinate with other agencies.
• Maintain records using the CAD system and related software.
