Zusammenfassung

The Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Sheriff’s Communications Operator to handle non-emergency and emergency calls, dispatch deputies, and monitor security and fire alarm systems during assigned shifts.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and data entry experience. A background check and aptitude testing are required; safety-sensitive position with CDS testing. Training provided and opportunities for longevity pay and step increases.

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from high school.
• Two or more years of data entry and keyboard experience; passing proficiency tests; valid non-commercial Class C license.

Aufgaben

• Rapidly and accurately process incoming calls and messages; determine the nature of requests.
• Screen and route calls; provide information and referrals to other agencies.
• Take and record messages; maintain logs and internal computer systems.
• Access law enforcement databases (MILES, NCIC, TIBURON, District Court, MVA) as needed.
• Evaluate information and respond calmly to stressful calls; operate radio dispatching equipment.
