The City of Redwood City is seeking an experienced Public Safety Communications Dispatcher (Lateral) for the Police Department to manage emergency calls via a CAD terminal, assess priority, and dispatch police and other units as needed.

Responsibilities include tracking unit status, coordinating with other agencies, handling Next Gen 911 data, and training new staff. Applicants should have one year of dispatcher experience, a HS diploma, and a CA driver’s license.

Qualifikationen

• One year of experience equivalent to a public safety dispatcher.
• Education, equivalent to completion of the 12th grade.
• Valid California driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Aufgaben

• Maintain contact with status and location of all units on assignment.
• Coordinate emergency calls and relay information to other agencies.
• Enter, update and retrieve information from police/public safety networks.
• Manage text-to-911 communications, photos, videos and other data.
• Train new employees in dispatch procedures.
