Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a Telecommunications Operator to receive and triage emergency and routine communications. You will forward information to the appropriate units and maintain logs for district personnel movements, ensuring rapid, accurate responses during incidents.

The role requires multitasking under stress, strong writing and verbal skills, and the ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends. Prior dispatcher experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Must be licensed by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement or complete license within 12 months.
• Must be 21 years or older and have a Texas driver’s license.
• No felony/misdemeanor history as specified; security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple computer and radio systems simultaneously.
• Monitor SBISD building alarm and camera systems.
• Maintain communications log reflecting location of personnel in the district.
• Provide after-hours radio and telephone contact for Operations and Police.
• Distribute information to officers and coordinate security patrols as required.
• Maintain Police Department records and act as central information center.
• Dispatch outside emergency services as needed.
• Enter data into relevant databases and assist walk-in visitors.
• Perform clerical duties and process documents as directed.
