Job summary

Fort Bend ISD seeks a Police Telecom Operator to perform radio communications work, receiving and dispatching calls for FBISD. Responsibilities include monitoring channels, logging calls, and entering records into the district system while performing various clerical tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with radio operations, and the ability to handle stress during shift work. Prior office experience is preferred; bilingual skills may be a plus where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, including typing and office practices.
• Telecommunications Operator Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year office clerical experience, preferably with telephone or radio communication.
• Ability to learn procedures of Police Department and to handle sensitive incident reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor radio communications on assigned shift and dispatch officers as required.
• Log information and maintain files of calls.
• Enter data into district dispatching system and databases.
• Prepare reports and routine memos from general instructions.
• Provide information via phone, transfer calls or take messages as applicable.
