Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required, some college preferred.
• Experience: Previous emergency or security dispatch experience preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge and Skills: Able to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, multitask, use headset, type accurately, and operate PCs.

Responsibilities

• Determine the nature and location of calls requesting public safety and dispatch appropriate response using CAD.
• Receive, screen and relay information to safety force personnel; coordinate with on-site units.
• Monitor alarms and cameras; relay weather and security updates as needed.
• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls; dispatch radio traffic and locate units.
• Maintain on-call schedules and document all activities per policy.
