Job summary

The Clermont County Department of Public Safety Services seeks an Emergency Resource Technician to join a dedicated team and provide critical support for responders. This full-time role offers 12-hour night shifts (6 PM–6 AM), opportunities for transfers, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off.

Responsibilities include handling emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating information with responders, operating radio and computer equipment, and applying medical instruction per protocol.

  • Answer emergency and non-emergency phone lines.

  • Provide standardized emergency medical instructions to callers.
  • Make timely decisions with limited information.
  • Coordinate with Police, Fire and EMS agencies.
  • Assist public and other agencies with disaster responses.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance.
  • Access NCIC/LEADS as requested by law enforcement.

Work experience in emergency dispatching is preferred but not necessary. We offer training in-house to help you succeed in becoming a dispatcher.

Must have a high school education or equivalent and no criminal convictions. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.

Essential Qualities
  • Active listening skills, multi-tasking, good written and verbal communication.
  • Dispatchers need to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency while remaining calm.
  • Under supervision, this job requires the Dispatcher to operate a radio and computer equipment, while processing phone calls and radio traffic.
