Job summary

The Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transit Administration is seeking a Police Communications Operator to monitor radio transmissions, process 911 and non-emergency calls, and operate CAD and NCIC systems in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates will complete NCIC CN1 training, pass a typing test, and be able to work 40 hours weekly including evenings and weekends, with location in Baltimore.

Qualifications

• Typing test (35 words per minute) required to determine qualification.
• Job skill assessment must be passed.
• Applicants must be able to work 40 hours per week and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor police radio transmissions and operate CAD/NIC/NCIC systems.
• Receive and process calls using a multi-line telephone system.
• Monitor ELERTS and assist with customer service as needed.
• Perform clerical and typing tasks as assigned.
