Job summary

The Department of Military in Arkansas is seeking a Dispatcher to receive, process, and relay emergency and non-emergency calls for service. You will play a critical role in public safety by ensuring timely dispatch of law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other responders.

Responsibilities include handling 911 calls, gathering essential information, providing pre-arrival instructions, and coordinating with multiple agencies using CAD systems and radios.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year experience in emergency dispatch, public safety communications, law enforcement, or related field preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain dispatch equipment, radio consoles, and telephone systems.
• ACIC Level I or II certification is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and provide clear instructions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Answer and process 911 emergency and non-emergency calls, determining nature and urgency.
• Gather critical information from callers and relay to responders.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions including CPR guidance as needed.
• Assign and dispatch law enforcement, fire, EMS and other personnel.
• Utilize CAD systems, radio communications, and other tech to track responses.
• Record and maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation.
