Job Summary

Gulliver Preparatory School is seeking to hire a Public Safety Coordinator to join our team of professionals. This position will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of public safety at Gulliver Prep. The coordinator will ensure a safe and secure environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors across all campuses, working in conjunction with the Safety and Security Supervisor. The role is crucial in preventing incidents, responding effectively to emergencies, and fostering a culture of safety and preparedness.

Primary Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Campus Safety & Security Management

• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to address vulnerabilities across all campuses.
• Oversee the deployment and maintenance of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and emergency communication systems.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure a secure environment, including traffic management, visitor protocols, and student transportation safety.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

• Develop, implement, and review emergency response plans for scenarios such as severe weather, fire, medical emergencies, active threats, and other crises.
• Organize and lead safety drills in compliance with local and state regulations.
• Maintain partnerships with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency response agencies.

Training, Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations related to school safety and security.
• Maintain accurate records, including incident reports, safety audits, and compliance documentation.
• Report on safety initiatives, incident trends, and improvement recommendations to the Director of Operations and Risk Management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• At least five (5) years of experience in public safety, law enforcement, or a related field, preferably in a school or campus setting.
• Proven expertise in emergency management, risk assessment, and crisis response.
• Strong knowledge of security systems, protocols, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in a school setting is preferred.
