Job summary

LSU Health Shreveport is seeking a part-time Communications Officer 1 or 2 to support the University Police Department. The role involves transmitting and receiving messages clearly by radio and phone, monitoring security systems, and guiding staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate has up to six months experience in communications or related clerical work and is committed to courtesy and excellence in a community policing environment. Flexible hours and weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience transmitting and receiving messages by radio or in administrative services.
• Six months of training in a business or clerical curriculum or fifteen semester hours of college training.
• Commitment to courtesy and excellence in public safety communications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transmit communications by radio, terminal, and telephone.
• Maintain activity log with legible records.
• Monitor security video displays as needed.
• Provide directions and information to visitors and staff.
