Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Bonding Specialist to act as liaison between the Sheriff’s Office, bonding companies, the public, and inmate families. The role includes preparing magistrate documents for court judges, logging bonds and court records, and notarizing documents as required.

You will gather information from booking and courthouse systems to ensure proper release or transfer of incarcerated persons, and may assist in emergency management tasks during local disasters.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 1 year related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Quicken; strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with the public, staff and officials.
  • Flexible schedule including overtime, shift work, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and public relations between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
  • Serve as intermediary between bonding companies, the public and inmate families.
  • Prepare magistrate documents for County and District Court Judges.
  • Log, record and file bonds, court documents and financial transactions.
  • Process and record court documents/dispositions from multiple courts under timelines.
  • Notarize documents for department and external agencies as needed.
  • Gather information from booking, courthouse, and other agencies for release or transfer of incarcerated persons.
  • Participate in emergency management activities during local disasters as directed.
