Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Applications Developer 2 to support the TraCS system used by public safety agencies. You will maintain TraCS modules and forms, connect TraCS to RMS and CLEAN, troubleshoot using the TraCS SDK, monitor automated processes, and document technical details.

You may telework part-time with in-office Thursdays and Fridays in Harrisburg. Qualifications include 1 year as Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3, or 4 years IT experience with 2

Qualifications

• One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title)
• Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance
• Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field
• A bachelor's degree in any information technology field
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve TraCS modules and forms using XML, VB.NET, and related tools
• Assist with connections between TraCS and external systems such as RMS and CLEAN
• Troubleshoot issues using the TraCS SDK and other development tools
• Check automated processes and take action when they fail
• Create and update technical documents to support system understanding
• Participate in project work and support continuity plans during emergencies
