Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking Public Safety Ambassadors to protect campus property, control access, and assist visitors. You will monitor restricted areas, direct people, and report hazards while maintaining order across UC campus facilities in San Francisco.

This role requires staying calm under stress, excellent customer service, English fluency, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. A valid CA driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid, CPI, AED, and Clery training within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills; fluent English.
• Ability to stay calm under stress in emergencies and make sound judgments.
• Good attendance and reliability.
• Ability to lift 21–30 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Current CPR certification (within 6 months).
• Basic First Aid certification (within 6 months).
• CPI de-escalation training (within 6 months).
• AED training (within 6 months).
• Clery training (within 6 months).
• Ability to work variable hours onsite in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Protect University property and maintain order.
• Monitor entry to restricted areas.
• Direct visitors and answer questions about layouts.
• Inspect areas to prevent hazards and respond to emergencies.
• Direct visitors and emergencies with sound judgment.
• Work onsite in San Francisco with variable hours.
