Job Requirements
- Prior experience with PR and social media.
- Preferably a background in journalism or media training.
- Flawless written and spoken English.
- Ability to write and distribute press releases.
- Strong professional relationships with writers, journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
- Ability to secure media coverage for clients.
- Understanding of online communities and content marketing.
- Experience with services like HARO and MuckRack.
- Published content on authoritative sites.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PST.
- Passion for building a startup.
- Reliable workstation with a fast computer, microphone, speakers, reliable internet, and power (for remote work).
Your Duties and Tasks
- Writing press releases.
- Managing and organizing a PR database.
- Responding to media information requests.
- Acting as liaison between clients and media.
- Analyzing various niches, verticals, and competitors.
- Reviewing clients’ websites to identify linkable assets.
- Developing customized PR strategies and tactics for optimal results.
- Identifying and vetting link prospects and opportunities.
- Maintaining engagement through regular follow-ups.
- Engaging via social media.
- Representing clients online when needed.
- Organizing and managing multi-faceted campaigns.
- Supporting the organization’s brand and corporate image.
Starting base pay ranges from $15 to $35 per hour in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, location, and seniority. Outside these states, compensation may vary.
Experience levels: Beginner (1-3 years), Intermediate (3-5 years), Expert (5+ years).
