WECU is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to join our Public Relations department in Bellingham, WA. The role supports marketing efforts by promoting the credit union’s products, services, and brand across communities.

You will assist with events, content creation for social media, and execution of PR and social strategies, while maintaining team resources and ensuring brand consistency. Strong writing and digital communications skills are essential.

Formación

• Formal education in marketing or advertising with emphasis in communications or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Fluency in marketing, advertising, and communications best practice.
• Understanding of the digital ecosystem and its role in a contemporary member experience.
• Accurate writing skills, stressing composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in executing, tracking, and reporting on an aggressive event schedule including community event sponsorships and member events.
• Assist in the production, editing, and posting of photos, audio files, articles, and videos.
• Assist in executing the WECU social media strategy.
• Assist in executing the WECU PR strategy, including crafting and distributing press releases and pitching leaders.
• Maintain the marketing team’s supplies and equipment.
• Write and create content for WECU’s social channels and promotional calendars.
• Oversee social media content planning for multiple platforms and engage with audiences.
• Provide recommendations on innovative ways to use social platforms to tell stories and drive engagement.
