Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Manager, Public Relations to lead U.S. communications for Columbia Threadneedle Investments, based in Boston or New York.

You will join a three-person PR team reporting to the VP of External Communications to drive media relations and strategic messaging. The role involves crafting pitches, handling interview requests, distributing market commentary, preparing press materials, and tracking coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3-5 years in public relations or corporate communications in financial services or a regulated industry.
• Experience working with journalists covering business, markets or investing.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong editing, research, problem solving, project management and interpersonal skills.
• Creative and independent PR tactics mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with corporate social media and media monitoring/analytics.
• Willing to obtain FINRA Series 7 license within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Interact with media, create and execute pitches, respond to interview requests and distribute market commentary.
• Create and maintain media lists and coordinate with a retained PR agency.
• Assist with press releases, Q&A documents and other materials for launches and events.
• Media tracking, analysis and reporting; manage industry recognition, polls and surveys.
• Support for product launches, leadership changes and other initiatives.
