Job summary

Geographic Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to own the strategy and execution of the company’s external communications. You’ll manage messaging, award submissions, media lists, and promotional content across traditional and new media.

You will proactively generate a compelling narrative, leverage an existing network, and build relations with media as a brand ambassador. Experience with PR tools like Muck Rack, PR Newswire, Qwoted, and Meltwater is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public relations, communications or media relations experience.
• Proven ability to plan and execute PR campaigns and manage external relations.
• Experience cultivating media contacts using industry tools.
• Copywriting and editing skills for various channels.
• Familiarity with Trello or similar task management tools is a plus.
• Understanding of how SEO impacts corporate site traffic.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate PR content and activities for corporate brand and product lines.
• Draft press releases, pitches, case studies, white papers, and media summaries.
• Obtain final messaging approvals from stakeholders and distribute messaging widely.
• Lead media strategies across print, social, TV, blogs, and podcasts.
• Build and maintain media relationships across industries and locations.
• Develop and manage a yearly media calendar and pitch award opportunities.
