Job summary

Baird is seeking a Public Relations intern to support the Public Relations and internal Communications teams in Milwaukee. The role blends media relations, content creation and measurement to strengthen Baird’s brand and employee communications.

The hybrid program requires four days in the downtown Milwaukee office and one remote day. We expect 37.5–40 hours weekly in summer and 15–20 hours during school terms, with May 2027 start for local students.

Qualifications

• Completed coursework in public relations, journalism or communications.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
• Motivation to learn and contribute to PR and media relations.

Responsibilities

• Track coverage across earned media and measure impact against strategies.
• Assist with media relations; draft news releases and media lists.
• Support PR reporting using dashboards from trackers.
• Coordinate news postings to websites and social accounts.
• Prioritize media inquiries and fulfill reporter requests.
• Help create and execute internal news stories.
• Support community involvement and sponsorship efforts (e.g., Baird Gives Back Week).
• Attend monthly PR and Marketing & Communications meetings.
