Job summary

California State University, Long Beach invites applications for the Public Records Officer in the Office of Audit, Public Records and Special Projects. Under general direction, the role coordinates records requests, reviews documents, and ensures timely responses while safeguarding confidentiality.

The position also supports employee and labor relations activities within Staff Human Resources and provides access to management strategies on bargaining.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree and three years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with public records laws, legal compliance, or government transparency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Public Records Act responses and coordinate with Counsel and departments.
• Review subpoenas and legal requests for records and track deadlines.
• Provide strategic program support for employee and labor relations within Staff HR.
