Job summary

The City of New Braunfels is seeking a dedicated Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist to support the Finance Department in acquiring, managing and disposing of City property for projects and operations. You will work under the Purchasing Manager to coordinate title work, appraisals and negotiations with contractors and legal teams.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in real estate studies or related field and at least four years of administrative real estate experience, plus a Texas

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate studies, business law, business or public administration.
• Four years administrative experience in real estate, real property management, or a directly related field (or equivalent).
• Valid Texas Driver’s License; Real Estate Agent or Broker license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains real property for City projects, analyzes acquisition methods, prepares acquisition plans and cost estimates.
• Evaluates property interests, prepares conveyance documents, coordinates with City Attorney on eminent domain issues.
• Negotiates acquisition or disposition of City real estate rights; orders title, appraisals and surveys; handles settlements.
• Develops and maintains policies for real estate acquisition, disposal, management and records.
